Modelling and indirect field‐oriented control for pole phase modulation induction motor drives

In the recent days, for traction and electric vehicle (EV) applications, multiphase machines with pole phase modulation (PPM) technique have been proposed. The smoother operation during changeovers as well steady-state operations is a significant constraint while adopting PPM-based induction motor (PPMIM) drives EV applications. So, in this paper, PPMIM dynamic model associated vector control are proposed attaining of machine. machine modelling equations transformation matrices implemented an arbitrary reference frame by considering different combinations. Based on equations, indirect field-oriented (IFOC) reflecting changes parameters modes. IFOC, regulating d-axis q-axis current components, single PI loops all pole-phase IFOC scheme robust applicable any type pulse width modulation. experimental, simulation results, given to illustrate potentiality IFOC. performance steady state modes analyzed associated. Simulation experimental results presented.
